Sandi Rungren said there’s a sense of energy surrounding the Main Street Market’s Waste Reduction Initiative. The co-op recently switched from using plastic wrap to an unbleached, recyclable wax paper to keep its sandwiches fresh. Customers can participate in the movement by finding “Plastic free! #reducewasteinitiative” tags hanging by products throughout the store.
