The Taylor Holiday Inn Express was the meeting place for the Junior Woman’s Study Club on March 12.
Hostesses Martha Griffith – chairman, Shannon Carroll, Edye Holubec and Anne Wentrcek turned the room into a Spring wonderland. Centerpieces were colorful pots of Gerber daisies, which were later given away as door prizes, and bunnies of all sizes. Hostesses Nell Steger and Linda Kaderka were unable to attend.
Griffith brought information on “20 Foods Proven to Heal” from Readers Digest for members. Marsha Beckermann, club member and retired dietician, elaborated on these foods and spoke about adding the super foods one at a time to improve eating habits.
Wentrcek, charitable giving chairman, presided over a discussion of this year’s gift giving. It was decided by unanimous vote to contribute our donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Williamson County.
This organization, which serves kindergarten through high school students, is operated on donations. It stresses academics, character, and responsibility. Between 3 and 7 p.m. a meal and a snack are provided. The meals are at no charge to the students.
The slate of officers for 2020 – 2022 was presented and approved.
